About CBm Experience

CBm Experience was started during a semester at North South University, when I was teaching ENG 315, Electronic Journal Workshop, in the summer of 2010. I had first taught at NSU in 2001, and it was the fourth time I taught that course.

Since then, I have recorded my reflections on higher education and multicultural life in this blog, as I finish up my PhD in English here at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. In May I’ll graduate and pursue life back in the “real world” as a doctor. My areas of study include Bangladesh, South Asian diaspora, American family / marriage law and its representation in literature, and Islam and America. With luck, I can shape my dissertation into a published edition, and I’m also working on my second novel. Three Girls, my first novel, was published in 2006 in Bangladesh. I don’t write often, but when I do, I try to make it something worthwhile.
